Chronic diseases affecting the wellbeing of your feet

Diabetes is a chronic disease affecting many parts of the body including the foot. Successful management of the condition requires a team approach. Failure to not regularly having your feet checked could lead to other server complications.

Our goal is to provide a comprehensive approach to foot care and lower limb health.Today's podiatrist is an integral part of the holistic treatment team and has documented success in preventing amputations.

Statistics have shown that:

  • More than 65,000 lower limbs are amputated annually due to complications from diabetes.
  • After an amputation, the chance of another amputation within three to five years is as high as 50 percent.
Including a podiatrist in your diabetes care can reduce the risk of lower limb amputation up to 85 percent and lowers the risk of hospitalization by 24 percent.

The keys to amputation prevention are early recognition and regular foot screenings performed by a podiatrist. Assessments must be conducted for all patients even if no complications are present.

see what patients are saying?

I visited Mohammed Podiatrist with my daughter. She is 9 and often complained of back and neck pain. Mohammed assessed her and prescribed orthotics. She has since been pain free and comfortable. He was patient, understanding and treated our case with professionalism and care. Mohammed goes the extra mile and spends time educating his patients on the causes of their complications and how to take care of yourself. You definitely made our feet smile!!!

NABILA SADAR

I’ve been a diabetic patient for a few years and had a wound that wouldn’t heal. Regardless of how many nurses, doctors or diabetic centers I visited, I always left with the problem the same or at times worse. I was referred to Mohammed and within 3 weeks my wound visibly reduced and is now closed. Mohammed taught me how to take care of my feet as a diabetic. He is friendly and very capable.

JosephMoloi

For quite some time I had been experiencing extreme pain due to an ingrown toenail. I consulted Mohammed regarding this matter. Mohammed was professional, approachhable and very welcoming. He was extremely compassionate towards me, and as his patient, I felt very comfortable and at ease. The treatment went exceptionally well, and after a couple of days, I was on my feet again. He is trustworthy and reliable. I would recommend him to anyone!
